TRACIE NOLES-ROSS

Tracie Noles-Ross is a multidisciplinary storyteller. Responsive to the times in which we are living, Noles-Ross is drawn to neglected, forgotten, and lost objects. Through the intentional processes of repurposing and re-creation, discarded objects are charged with a new purpose and encoded with healing stories used to encourage a shift in perspective. Through a redirection of energy and the transformative processes of collage, quilting and assemblage, she weave stories, drawing on themes of memory, place, and identity. Her intention is to make discarded objects meaningful through transformation and recontextualization.

Noles-Ross received her B.A. from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a concentration in Visual Arts and Creative Writing. She is a member of the Ground Floor artist cooperative and the Alabama Women’s Caucus for Art. She received a 2022-2023 Visual Arts Fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
