TANNER SOUTH
Tanner South is a 32 year old from Eupora, MS. Inspired by art his whole life, he is a self taught artist who didn’t start painting routinely until he was 25. A graduate of MSU but not in art, biological sciences. Artist by day and scientist by night, he works full time on nightshift as a medical laboratory scientist here at the Baptist hospital in town.
Driven by experimentation and cathartism, he experiments with different textures and mediums together to enhance layering in his work. With a creative eye for utility and resourcefulness, Tanner uses bits of odds and ends of upcycled pieces of interesting things that would be trash to the common person; symbiotically meshing expression and environmentalism to capture concepts and feelings through textures.
