ABOUT THE ARTIST
MARY ELLEN WINBORN
Mary Ellen Winborn is a licensed Washington State architect, yet studied watercolor and design under Marie Hull in high school, freehand drawing under Brent Funderburk at Mississippi State University and recently oil painting with Carol Roark in Enid, Mississippi.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from MSU in 1991 and moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1992. From there, she raised a family and practiced architecture for 30 years. In 2022, she and her husband, Joel, moved back to Mississippi and live on the Mississippi Delta’s edge.
Mary Ellen has only waited 50 years to paint with oils and loves it more than she thought was possible. She currently paints iconic images of the Mississippi Delta that capture her imagination and hopefully other’s imaginations, too.
