Bio

ello, my name is Cheryl Lee. I am the oldest of six children and I grew up here in Columbus, MS on the southside of town. I attended Lee High School and Caldwell. After school, in 1975, my family moved to Flint, MI where I lived for about 30 years before moving back to Columbus and getting married in 1998. I have 4 children, 5 stepchildren, 30 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Around 2011 I volunteered at Baptist Hospice GT an then in 2015 I was hired as the Business Manager which I am presently still there.

I love to travel and spend quality time with my family. I also enjoy attending church and spending time with my church family also.

Artist Statement

My Inspiration for painting comes from the love of art. My family has several artists that draws, does tattoos, and paint. My Sister, Delerie Graham who used to live here several years ago has sold some of her artwork at Market Street. She has always encouraged me to paint with her. So, I started out just doing a few pieces and I have also sold several of the paintings that I have done. Several of the Nursing Homes here in town have gracious accepted some of my work to hang in their facilities for the staff and patients to enjoy.

I continue to create pieces based on feeling an I just left the paint speak for itself. Sometimes people will tell me what colors they like and I would do something special for them.

I am really grateful and bless to be able to do something special like this at this stage in my life.
